Parent questions, answered
Everything people ask before they forward their first school email.
- How does Tangle Bell actually work?
- You add your kids, schools, teachers and classes once. Then you forward school emails to your private Tangle Bell address. AI reads each email twice — once to pull out the event, date and ask, and once to match it against your real roster — and files it under the right kid, teacher and class. You do not tag, sort or type anything.
- Do I have to forward every email by hand?
- No. Most email apps let you set an auto-forward rule for school domains, so it happens automatically. You can also forward one-offs from your phone; the address is saved as a contact card so it auto-completes.
- What if the AI gets something wrong?
- Low-confidence matches go to a triage list instead of your calendar, and every item shows exactly which roster facts were used or missing. When you correct one, Tangle Bell remembers that sender for good.
- What happens if my partner forwards the same email?
- Tangle Bell fingerprints each message, so duplicate forwards from anyone in your household collapse into one item — no double calendar entries.
- Does it work if I only have one child or one school?
- Yes. Tangle Bell works just as well for one child and one school. You still get automatic sorting, a kid page, a calendar and a digest — just without the multi-kid complexity.
- Does it work for more than one school?
- That is the whole point. Tangle Bell was built for families with kids spread across elementary, middle and high school, each with their own teachers, teams and calendars.
- Does it handle sports, clubs and activities?
- Yes. Coaches and activity leaders sit alongside teachers in your roster, and items are typed as Game, Practice, Performance, Field Trip, Permission Slip, Payment and more.
- Where does the school information come from?
- Tangle Bell scans each school's public website for staff, classes, clubs, athletics and calendar feeds. Nothing enters your roster until you approve it.
- Can my co-parent or a caregiver see it too?
- Yes — invite them from settings and they see the same kids, calendar and items. Your data is private to your household.
- Can my kids sign in themselves?
- Yes. Parents can create a username and password for each child from the Accounts page. Kids sign in on the same auth page, choose the kid tab, and land on their own dashboard showing only their schools, teachers, classes and action items.
- What can a kid account do?
- Kids can see their own page, mark their items complete, and add personal notes or events. They cannot delete parent-created items, edit the roster, or see another kid's dashboard.
- Is there a parent dashboard that shows all kids at once?
- Yes. Parents and guardians see the household view with every kid, the family calendar, raw emails and settings. Adults can also switch to any kid's dashboard to see exactly what that child sees.
